The Atlanta Singers Welcome You!

"This little concert could well be the musical highlight of the whole holiday season in Atlanta, just in terms of the pure joy for the listener. And as for technique, anyone who has ever sung in a choir will sit in wonder. These guys are money."
Atlanta Journal Constitution - December 2007

"Intricate, classical harmonies perfectly sung by this talented ensemble."
Primarily A Cappella

"Beautifully molded lines pitched to perfection...the variety of voices was surprising; the balance here is superlative." The Post and Courier, Charleston

"Clear, no-frill music making.... Routinely they produce that balanced, seamless integrated tone that you and I spend an eternity working for in our madrigal groups and never achieve." Phillip Greenfield, American Record Guide

**********
The Atlanta Singers are a professional vocal ensemble known for their innovative programming and engaging performance style. They have developed a reputation for excellence in the performance of a wide range of choral repertoire ranging from Renaissance sacred masterworks to Twentieth Century music, and are heard frequently on NPR's Performance Today.

Founded thirty years ago by conductor Kevin Culver and soprano Cheryl Bray (Lower), The Atlanta Singers began as a group of friends dedicated to the enjoyment of performing with a small ensemble. Comprised of some of the area’s finest singers who had moved to Atlanta to sing with Robert Shaw, their goal was to sing for the sheer pleasure of it, and occasionally, to perform for the public. Critical success soon came their way, and a series of concerts began in 1976. Culver retired from the group in 1992, and David Brensinger was named the new music director in 1993.

Brensinger conducted the Singers for thirteen years before retiring in 2005. He broadened their audience through recordings and performances around the Southeast, and selections from many of their past Christmas concerts at Spivey Hall under his direction have been heard nationally on National Public Radio.

After a comprehensive search, The Atlanta Singers appointed David Morrow as their Artistic Director and Conductor. He debuted to critical acclaim with concerts in April 2007.
